Name of company/service: Airtel Broadband
I started using the Airtel Broadband from October 2011. I bought a alpha-3 GB plan for 6 months. In February 2012, I learnt that I have been using more than 3 GB every month and I had to pay some amount for the excess usage.
This payment was collected by an Airtel Executive who cam to my home. This executive also suggested that I should upgrade to alpha-6 GB plan which allows me to have unlimited usage!
He said he will directly have that done and from the next billing cycle which was supposed to start in 3 days.. my new plan will be activated.
In May 2012, I get a call from Airtel saying that I have outstanding bills for excess usage of my internet according to the alpha 3GB plan for the months of February, March and April.
I explained them about my conversation with their executive and the commitment that he made about the plan change!
I have also lodged 3 official complaints against this with them and have answered at least 50-100 customer care calls explaining them the issue.
But no resolution has been given by them.
This is as bad as it can get for a consumer with a broadband company not honoring their deliverables and not taking any responsibility of their executives. I have waste hours explaining the problem to their officials but I don’t think people are even concerned.
