Vibration & Noise in IFB 8 KG Digital Direct Drive Washing Machine

Location/place: Haridwar

Name of company/service: IFB

The complaint was registered with IFB for nearly 9th or 10th time since the washing machine(IFB 8 KG DIGITAL DIRECT DRIVE) was purchased in Feb’2012. The problem was regarding high levels of vibrations/noise level (even at the lowest 400 RPM) & machine moving out of its place by 2 to 3 feet during operation when placed on trolley.

As suggested by the IFB service engineers the new trolley of machine was purchased & changed. Also the electrical switches/plugs were rectified on their suggestion, however, the problem was not resolved.

The problem has already been attended by the local IFB service engineers (Mr.Abbas & Mr.Kapil Sharma) at Haridwar 7 to 8 times & they have not been able to address the problem. It was then requested to send some experienced IFB Service engineers from Dehradun (Mr.N.K.Sharma & Mr.Ajay) who attended the problem 2 times alongwith local service engineers but they were also not able to resolve the problem. Also we have been in touch with IFB Regional Manager, Mr.Yadav who despite his assurances & goodwill gestures could not help in resolving the problem.

LATEST STATUS OF PROBLEM: The trolley has been withdrawn by IFB engineers after consultation with their GOA factory, as they said it was not designed for the referred washing machine. After removal of trolley the vibrations /noise level are still there & the machine still moves out of position by 2 to 3 inches. The problem seems to be that of imbalance within the washing machine when washing clothes at full load of 8 KG which has never been addressed by IFB engineers. They came & always operated the machine on NO load despite our repeated complaints that the machine vibrates during FULL load operation. ONLY once they witnessed the FULL load washing & when the machine vibrated they tried to convince us that this is a NORMAL machine behaviour, which we DID NOT accept.

Since the problem is there is the machine from the day of its installation & IFB service engineers have made many experiments/attempts to resolve the problem at our home without much success, we have now requested IFB to replace the washing machine without any further delay with a proven model of 6 to 8 KG capacity or refund the entire amount & take back the machine. (We are now fed up with the performance of the machine). Our latest complaint no. is 9803533, Dated: 6.11.2012.
You are requested to take up the matter at the appropriate level with IFB & help in resolving the problem which has been persisting for nearly 9 months now.

Also it is worth noting that IFB have DISCONTINUED the IFB 8 KG DIGITAL DIRECT DRIVE WASHING MACHINE alongwith all other DIGITAL DIRECT DRIVE MODELS from their product range on their web-site (please refer the web link http://www.ifbappliances.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10051&storeId=10001&categoryId=11504&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=11501&top_category=11501 ) which may be due to the problems of high vibrations & noise levels in the DIGITAL DIRECT DRIVE MODELS.
