I had purchased a Dell Inspiron N5010 laptop in the month of September,2010. The hard drive crashed just in six months and I suffered from huge data loss. It was under warranty period and the service person came to my location to change the hard drive.
The new drive which they claimed was new was getting overheated by the palm rest area. Now I again suffered from hard drive crash after an year of replacement.
I contracted the technical support of Dell and they confirmed for the crash and said that they would be unable to replace the hard drive due to lapse of the warranty.
As of what I know, the hard used is from Western Digital and it has a warranty of five years from the date of purchase. But when I visit the site, it says that the warranty of the hard drive is in the hands of Dell.
The person whom I talked to from customer care is refusing the warranty on hard drive and is asking me 10000/- for the replacement.
This is very poor after sales service by not providing warranty for the original parts.
