REJECTION OF MEDICLAIM AND REFUSAL TO RENEW THE POLICY

REFUSAL TO RENEW POLICY ON FLIMSY GROUNDS
I had a family floater policy from UIIC LTD.( Add : Divisional Office,Natraj Cinema building, 1st floor, N G Acharya marg, Chembur (E), Mumbai – 400071. taken in July 2009 through Canara Bank on concessional premium given under a scheme for customers of the bank.I took the policy ( for Rs 300000 ).I suffered some cardiac problems ( Angioplasty & stenting was done in my heart ) in October 2010 and submitted my claims to the Co. through the TPA GENINS INDIA LTD.The claim for about Rs 238022 was rejected by both the UIIC LTD and GENINS INDIA stating that my medical problem was due to PREEXISTING CONDITIONS and hence could not be considered.I have a letter from the cardiologist who treated me stating that the heart ailment was an entirely independent one.Also, as a punishment, the renewal of the policy ( on 23.07.2011 ) was REFUSED by UIIC.While I am taking up the claims issue with the Insurance Ombudsman also here,I am also parallely addressing a complaint to you for speedier resolution of this complaint.My particulars are : Name : CHAKRAVARTHY VASUDEVAN, DOB : 27.06.1948, policy No.120700/48/10/41/00000368 Claim Control No. with GENINS INDIA : UN-3-56475.Add: 14/401, Vasant Vihar, Thane (W) 400610, Tel: 022 21711264, (M): 09769119650. I am a retired person.I need the policy as well as the amount of settlement as I have borrowed money for the purpose and am repaying it bit by bit.I request some urgent action from you to set right my grievance.At the moment I don’t have any mediclaim policy and I am at risk if I suffer any medical problems.I am 63.If any other information is needed, I will furnish it.My email ID : [email protected]
