Non-Refund for Defective Product

Location/place: Ahmedabad

Name of company/service: Naaptol.com

I placed order for HTC G1 through Naaptol.com on 30/05/2012. I made online payment via my Standard Chartered Bank Account also instantly. I received the handset on 06/06/2012. I was shocked to see that it was under Brand name of T-Mobile. No where on portal it is mentioned that I will receive T-Mobile G1. From here sequence of problems started.

As I opened the handset, inserted my sim card, I sent the sms for Internet settings from my TATA DOCOMO no. I got a revert MSG, that my phone is not supported for this facility. I was shocked, because one of the reason to buy this handset was internet usage. I called up customer care of TATA DOCOMO, they gave me manual settings. I restarted my mobile after saving settings, and tried surf Google which is there on main screen. But I got the error, ” The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again”. This means still I was not able to surf internet. After this I entered Android Market to install free applications and games. But there also I failed. I got the error ” A Network error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen”. This error came on screen for 10 to 12 times. After once or so I entered application option. I selected the application to download. But there also I got the error ”Download Error
– Download was unsuccessful, Please try again. So I didn’t get any content to download from Android Market. Also phone restart for 6-8 times in last 24 hours. One more issue is there. Bluetooth which I received with this handset for free is also not working. When I am connecting Bluetooth with Handset, it gets connect. But I am not able to hear voice of opposite person, also that person is not able to hear me. And after disconnecting bluetooth from handset, Handset also get mute. So I think along with Handset, Bluetooth is also defective.

I went at HTC Service Center here in Ahmedabad. But they told me that this model is with Agent Warranty with T-Mobile, and HTC cannot do anything directly. You need to contact Naaptol.com and T-Mobile regarding the same.

These points I raised shows what kind of disappointment I have seen. I am shocked with this kind of experience faced from Naaptol.com and HTC. When you know that T-Mobile is not supporting Internet in Indian subcontinent, then you should not promote these kind of handsets in India. This was the first time for me to deal through Naaptol.com. And I faced very bad experience.

I surrendered the handset to Naaptol.com on 12/06/2012. They told me that I will receive my refund in 21 working days. But till date I have not received the refund. Each and every time I call up Naaptol.com on +919223516148, they tell me my complain (Complain No. 3036367) is in process.

I talked to their different executives, lastly today I had a word with Mannun Mani, on 26/06/2012 I had a word with Uttara and except these 2, many a times I had talked to their executives, each and every time they told me that I will get my refund in 2 weeks, but still I have not received my refund.
