Negligence from Vodafone staff

I would like to bring to your notice that my Vodafone connection with number +91-9637318953 which I have been using since past 4 years was deactivated on 05-06-2012 without any prior notice. I came to know about this only when I called customer care. But again they were not able to provide me with a reason for the same. They asked me to visit nearest Vodafone care. As per their suggestion, I immediately went to main Vodafone care at Wakdewadi, Pune. After enquiring with few people, I came to know that the number is indeed deactivated and the reason said by them was “not submitting the documents”. I do not understand how will I submit the documents without being asked for. I am sure that I haven’t received any call or sms from Vodafone in past one month regarding the same. Anyway I requested them to reactivate the connection as it was disconnected for no fault of mine, but due to negligence from Vodafone staff. They told me that it will be reactivated within max 7 days. I was surprised with that information as I already had to bear loss for 24 hours because of Vodafone as this is my single point of contact. Then they informed me that they will give it priority and resolve it in 24-48 hours. Anyway I have paid 25 INR and submitted all the documents for the same. This service is totally unacceptable as a heavy financial loss has been incurred to me due to the negligence from Vodafone. Later in the evening I received a call from Vodafone saying my number is activated. When I verified, to my shock I realized that the number which they have activated is a different number and not mine. Such a huge negligence cannot be forgiven. When I called customer care, they provided me with no help. I am not able to connect to the nodal officer’s number also as the number comes busy all the time. I am not sure how to proceed with this and would like to claim compensation for all the time and money wasted because of Vodafone.
