Lens kept without intimation for one month and returned without repair

I had given my 18-55 mm Canon lens for repair on 13th September 2017 to Canon service centre, Pune. They had verbally assured that the lens would be repaired in 2-3 days. I kept following up, but they kept postponing the day. They could not even give me a tentative delivery date. I checked the status online somewhere in last week of September and the status showed delivered. I called up customer care and they confirmed that the status is delivered. Since then I had to continuously chase both the service centre and customer care multiple times on phone and email and after multiple chasers and they stalled me for a long time, they finally returned my lens after a month on 11th October 2017. When I took the lens back to my home and connected to my camera, I was amazed to see that it still had the same issue.

All these days, I missed out on several paid shoots, had to go through huge mental turmoil for not knowing whether Canon had lost my lens, getting no delivery date. Since the day I gave the lens, I have been undergoing huge harrassment. When I informed the service centre, they are asking me to give the lens back to them for repair. I can’t go through the harrassment again.

I need justice and reason for the financial losses that I incurred and mental harrassment, for Canon giving out false information and not providing the delivery date. I also would like to understand how Canon plans to repair/replace my lens without me going through any more physical or mental harrassment.
