Landline complaint

Location/place: Namakkal

Name of company/service: BSNL

04286-277199 is the phone connection take almost fifteen years back in the name of M/s Namakkal Taluk Lorry Owners Association and is used at the premises of petrol bunk leased to Indian Oil Corporation.
The line was disconnected in 2008 October due to cables being removed on account of the NH-7 widening work in front of the premises. When contacted the Namakkal exchange, we were informed that the connection would be restored only when the work gets complete. We waited till June 2009, when NH work at Mudalaipatty was completely over. When we approached the exchange they said they had no stock of new cables, hence it will take one more month to restore the connection. We waited till Dec’09 and surrendered the connection stating poor service as the reason, they refused to accept it and promised restoration of service within ten days. Again we waited till March’10 and lodged a complaint with Salem Circle Office. We only received a reply that the problem is under investigation and till date no action has been taken to lay new cable. Being a petrol bunk, we have suffered miserably as customers are deprived of credit card/loyalty card usage in the absence of a phone line. Also Indian Oil Corporation has issued letters for want of land line telephone connection. For the last one and a half years, we are paying the minimum amount for telephone bill without any usage and the telephone exchange seems to take no action in restoring this commercial connection. Please take speedy action to restore the line or provide an alternative as we are unable to give service to customers for credit card/loyalty card without a telephone line.
