Dear Sir,
This is Rajesh and this is complaint is towards ICICI’s collections agency.
I was using their credit card 5 years back and had closed the card with a settlement amount of Rs.18000/-. I received a call from their abusive collections agent, Mr.Ramesh (Ph: 9141511334) on 21st November 2012 , demanding to clear an outstanding of Rs. 28000/-. This is exactly 3 years after I closed the card.
On enquiring as why didn’t the bank sent any mails, their collection agents or any legal notices , he started getting abusive and threatened to come and take action if the amount was not cleared. Added to this, he was demanding that the amount of INR 28000/- be paid, when he would come for collection.
After this rather agonizing and distressed call, I called up ICICI customer care on 25th November 2012, and was confirmed by Mr Rajesh Tiwari (ICICI) that the amount was paid and the Zero outstanding would reflect 16 days from today, 25th November 2012. Mr Tiwari also confirmed that the information pertaining to the closure of the card was not updated at the time of settlement – 3 years ago, as the bank had failed to complete the process at their end and update my records with the correct status. The current request code raised is: SR247282023.
I have also filed a complaint against the collections agent with the bank, reference code bearing : SR24728164.
I would like to bring this to forum as I am not certain if my records would be updated by ICICI, even after the call today. Adding to this, I am also concerned of my own PHYSICAL SAFETY owing to the abusive and threatening calls from their collection agents without investigating the entire matter with the bank prior to making calls.
I am writing to also place on records that a bank of such repute does not perform any sanity check on the agents being deployed to do this activity. In my case, I have gone through extreme mental agony and pain as I was out of town and had this abusive and erratically behaving person landed up at my residence at Bangalore, my family would have been through a tormenting experience.
Regards,
Rajesh.
