harassment and loss of money

Name of company/service: STUDENT (N.I.T. TRICHY)

I am Swarnendu Bhattacharya(student of N.I.T. trichy).
On 8th of june 2013,I had made my bookings for travelling from trichy to Kolkata on www.makemytrip.com.
On 10th of june,2013,I had a flight scheduled at 16:30 p.m from trichy airport,to Chennai.
My reservation and itinerary details was
FLIGHT DETAILS
AIR INDIA EXPRESS,TRICHY TO CHENNAI, E TICKET NUMBER – 87N39G
AIRLINE PNR: 87N39G
DEPARTURE TIME :20.30 P.M. ARRIVAL TIME: 22.40 P.M.
Unfortunately, The flight started it’s journey on 18.40 p.m.from trichy airport due to reasons which was not explained to passengers .On entering Chennai airport, I had to go through immigration check and ultimately after collecting my baggage from baggage counter, it was already 20:05 p.m.
I Had another flight from Chennai to Kolkata on 20.30 p.m.,which I missed as check in time was at least 45 mins prior to scheduled departure
My reservation and itinerary details for 2nd flight was

INDIGO 6E-277,CHENNAI TO KOLKATA, E TICKET NUMBER – RU4LNW
AIRLINE PNR: RU4NLW
DEPARTURE TIME :20.30 P.M. ARRIVAL TIME: 22.40 P.M.
Inspite of repeated requests,the indigo authorities did not allow me to board the flight,instead they told me to buy another ticket for next day’s flight as they would re-schedule it to next day.

INDIGO 6E-271,CHENNAI TO KOLKATA VIA BANGALORE,BOOKING REFERENCE STATUS – RU4LNW CONFIRMED
DEPARTURE TIME :9.20 A.M. ARRIVAL TIME 1:15 P.M.
I ,who was supposed to attend my mother in hospital due to a sudden operation was detained in the airport for 12 hrs and the following morning I had to take another indigo flight to reach Calcutta at 13.20 p.m.,as the next available flight where they could reschedule was this, add to this the extra expenditure I incurred for booking the new ticket .In the mean-while while staying in the airport AIR INDIA authorities shrugged their shoulders off, took no care of what I said and simply dismissed the matter without even caring to listen the whole matter.
Now my question is, Am I not even eligible to get re-imbursed for the extra cost I spent for making reservation on new ticket next day for a fault committed by AIR INDIA EXPRESS authorities even if I forget 12 hrs of unending wait in the airport on 10th night and the extreme harassment???????
