A lot of people have suffered for ignorance of Samsung’s India division personnel and their ignorance. The Samsung U800 Soul-B phone for example. In the outer India market the phone is available as a 3G product with 2 cameras. In India the exactly same phone was being advertised in printed media. But Samsung launched and is still selling U800E in India which is a 2.5G tri-band (GSM 900/1800/1900) phone with one camera.

I own this U800E since October 2008. Spent more than 90 minutes on phone talking to Samsung India’s customer care people regarding these variations. They gave me lots of attitude and also asked me whether I purchased a smuggled good or not. But I lost the printed media advertisements. Or else they would have paid through their noses for my sufferings.

And guess what — after I sent a few e-mails to them, they changed the U800 specifications on Samsung India’s website. Bottom line — These companies can extort us only because of our ignorance.

JAAGO GRAHAK — ab to please JAAG JAAO!
