EXCESS BILL DUE TO WRONG READING

Name of company/service: Tata power Delhi Distribution ltd.

Sub: Complaint regarding Bill –CA/CRN no. 60010863565, K NO. 34400168061(Meter No.44004148-(Ms Sushma Kohli)

Dear Sir,

I purchased the above flat in August ,2011 from Ms. Sushma Kohli and is duly registered with NCT of Delhi. I am in receipt of bill bearing No. 10041432331 for the period from 8/5/2012 to 26/6/2012 for Rs. 14100/- for consumption of 2441 units, which is on a very very higher side and much disportionate to the last six months consumption which is in the range of 373 to 403 units during the period from Oct-Nov,2011 to March-April, 2012. The peak units recorded were during the period 4/4/2012 to 7/5/2012 as 816 units. The details for last six months average units is as under:-

From the above table it may please be observed that my per day consumption has been in the range of 12 to 14 units a day in all the months except last month where it was high due to more use of fans and refrigerator and AC, however the current bill reflects consumption of 48 units a day , which is almost double the last month even, whereas I have not installed any additional power points to result in increased consumption.

This forced me to check my meter reading and I was astonished to see that the reading reflected in my bill is of meter no.41227950 and not of my meter , whose no. is 44004148. This is a case of gross negligence on the part of TATA POWER DELHI DISTRIBUTION LIMITED. This is more apparent from the fact that all my previous bills used to be issued by M/s North Delhi Power Limited, whereas it seems that some change in Power Company has taken place during last month.
Incidentally it may be mentioned that I am person of ordinary means and cannot afford to pay Rs.14100/-on account of electricity.

Under the circumstances I humbly request you to kindly consider my bill based on average of past six months consumption, which to comes consumption of 706 units (2751/195=14.11×50 days) and issue a fresh bill with correct meter readings.

Your early action in the matter is requested as the last date of Payment is 23rd July,2012.
