I am deeply anguished to say that I sent a registered letter with AD to the proprietor, Utkal Auto, cantonment road, cuttack-753 003, on 6th Nov. 2012, from college square post office pin-753003. But even after three weeks of the despatch of the letter, I have not got the acknowledgement receipt and also not got any response to my query to SSPO, cuttack city division. The registered letter with AD was received by the post office with the no. RO494541238IN. I have registered a complaint with the booking post office , i.e. college square having complaint registration No.753003-00144. The officials of the GPO Cuttack are connived with the addressee to delay the disposal of the letter. This, I strongly feel, is being done at the behest of the addressee after being bribed. Because a local letter is just disposed off within three days of posting. If the letter is not delivered owing to whatever reason, the same may be returned to the sender within three days. But in my case the letter was kept with the GPO for more than three weeks without being delivered. The dept. of Posts is a service provider and I am a consumer. In the present case the dept.’s credibility is seriously affected.Its also a criminal breach of trust to delay the letter at the behest of the addressee. I condemn the action of the Cuttack GPO officials in charge of the delivery of the letter and demand a thorough enquiry into the incident by the Chief Post Master General of Odisha Region.
