Consumer Dissatisfaction

This is with respect to increasing problems faced by TV viewers with use of so called easy-to-use-economical set top boxes. We had worst experience with Tata sky DTH. At the first outset, before installation, payment was made with credit card as per the amount mentioned. During actual installation, Rs 500 more were asked for wiring charges which were not mentioned earlier. As a law abiding citizen, this amount was denied and connection was cancelled. Later on, DISH TV was employed and it was found that it had problems related to signal even when there is no rain. When approached Tata Sky again ( considering that building employees common antenna for Tata Sky, so problems would be lesser), clarified for earlier problems and it was assured that there will be no additional charges and viewing shall be as soon as installation activity is completed. However, even after 24 hours of payment made against the credit card, viewing was not available during installation activity due to balance not reflecting in Tata sky records due to some technical issues which eventually resulted in to cancellation.
I would like to bring to notice that in- spite of quick payment, consumer have to fight and keeping on getting trapped into endless customer care centers for this services. Service provider needs to be customer driven for customer satisfaction and needs to be looked into depth if they want to really prosper in long term.
