I was maintaining a Savings Bank Account No.SB-1178 in Bank of Baroda, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.110011 and was also maintaining a minimum balance of Rs.2500 in the said account. I also deposited Rs.1,00,000 Baroda Tax Saving Scheme for five years, in the said Branch on 19.5.2007 vide customer ref.No.000549960: A/c No.26030300003744:receipt No.373016 with due date of maturity being 19.5.2012 and the amount Rs.1,50,426.00.
On 29.5.2012, I requested the bank to credit the proceeds of this fixed deposit receipt in my Savings Account, close the said Savings account and pay me maturity value. In response the Bank paid me Banker’s Cheque No.250200 dated 29.5.2012 for Rs.1,48,588 as against the printed maturity value of Rs.1,50,426 of the said term deposit receipt and Rs.2500.00 of my Savings Bank Balance- total of both being Rs.1,52,926. It is true that I could not operate my Savings Account for about 2 years and my account was not active but the action of the Bank to deduct Rs.4,338.00 merely on this account does not appears to be justified. You are therefore requested to kindly take up the matter with the Bank authorities to pay the balance of Rs.4338 without any further delay in the matter. The copies of term deposit receipt and of the banker cheque issued by the bank are enclosed herewith.
