Cheating by Make My Trip on refund of hotel booking amount

Dear Sir,

This is with reference to my hotel booking (Booking ID: NH261211943764) through MakeMy Trip on 30-05-2012 for two rooms at Lake View Inn, Shillong for two days (05-06-2012 and 06-06-2012) against online payment of Rs.6182/- through SBI Debit Card which neither Make My Trip nor the hotel management could confirm till 05-06-2012 putting me in utter dilemma and uncertainty. This was a clear case of total disregard to Customer Care. As a result, I had to make an alternate arrangement for accommodation at the eleventh hour of my journey, asking the errant travel agency to cancel the booking

At about 11-30 AM on 05-06-2012, just hours before my flight to Guwahati, one Ms Nausheen Mansuri from Make My Trip made a phone call to me expressing regret that their agency could not conform my hotel booking at Lake View Inn, Shillong and that they would refund me the full booking amount. This was followed by her e-mail, endorsing what she had told over phone.

Then I received a mail from Make my Trip on 06-06-2012 which stated about refund of a reduced amount of only Rs. 4,511/- . On 08-06-2012 they hurriedly deposited the reduced amount to my bank account. This is not only a case of dishonesty but a clear case of cheating as well on the part of that notorious travel agency called Make My Trip. The fault was obviously committed by them but for that they were penalizing the customer. On pointing out their unethical act, they sent me the next letter and then again one more letter asking me to submit my bank details. These were nothing but a ploy on their part to drag the matter of refund to uncertainty.

So this is the state of customer service of this fraud travel agency assisted by some shameless scoundrels who are always looking for earning petty profits of the company by cheating their customers utilizing unfair means.

I would like to request you kindly to initiate necessary action against the errant travel agency as early as possible.
