I am a doctor, doing my post-graduation and this is what I am going through. I can only imagine what uneducated guys can go through.
AXIS Bank debit card used @ PNB ATM – did not dispense cash, but my account got debited for Rs 10,000/-.
Date of transaction: May 10th, 2014 around 7:30 pm
Details of the transaction:
I used my AXIS bank debit card to withdraw money from PNB ATM in khirki extension, New Delhi on above mentioned date and time. The ATM keypad did not work and I took the card and left. Within 5 minutes I got a message on my mobile saying that Rs 10,000/- is being debited from my account. I didn’t get any money. Immediately I went to the ATM, but I couldn’t see any money being dispensed.
I called up axis bank customer care immediately and told the entire scenario of what happened and they gave me a complaint number which is: 1405-010542 – All of this happened on 10th May,2014.
FROM HERE ON THE GAME IS BEING PLAYED BY AXIS BANK: The customer care told me that it takes about a week for them to resolve.
I waited for a week with lot of patience (& patience is not my asset). I called the axis customer care after a week and they told me that the money is dispensed and I denied it. Then told that they will give me another complaint number which is on a priority basis with # 1405-017774(19th May, 2014, I guess).
They asked me to wait for another week. They were really testing my patience hard enough. I had no choice but to say “ok”. I called them up again after a week, and to my utter dismay, they repeated the same answer “the money is dispensed, your money is gone”, these were the exact words uttered my Axis bank customer care. I was mad, angry, helpless – and asked them “what options do I have” then they told that I need to lodge a complaint in the Axis Bank.
What else would I do – went to Axis bank and lodged a complaint. The guy @ axis bank told that it takes 17 days from the time of my complaint and that they would start counting “Day one as from the 2nd complaint number” and I don’t know why. I waited for 17 more days. I went to bank after the long 17 days wait and he told the same answer – the money was dispensed and that I need to go to police station to file a report “for issuing CCTV footage for that transaction”.
This is where I am stuck.
