Airtel Billing descrepancy for the month May 2012.

Location/place: Bangalore

I am a Airtel customer with mobile number 9845643770 for almost 10 years now. Till now I have not faced any problem with billing.
I have received a bill on 24-May-12 for Rs. 5178.61, I am shocked after seeing this bill, as in 10 years of usage I never got this kind of bill.
Actually when I enquired about the same with Airtel customer care on 26-May-12, they said I have used Internet, thats why I have got that much bill.
I have logged a compliant for the same with reference number F1060009189(43844967). The response I am getting is I need to pay the bill. Please take corrective action against Airtel and proper bill for me.

I got the call from the number 7760599888 at 6:23PM today, which rang only for 2 rings, before taking the call it got cut. I dont know it is from Airtel or not.

Regarding your service I have not requeted for activating the internet service on my mobile, nor I got any SMS or Call from Airtel executive saying that Internet service is enabled on my mobile, so the Internet charges in my mobile bill are not valid. Please revert the Internet charges, so that I can pay the voice call bill at the earliest.

I am not sure how the number 43844967 is a request for enabling 3G service,
this number is shared with me after I raised a concern and complained about
descripancies in the bill on 26-May-12, I got one more reference number after
this complaint i.e F1060009189. Please clarify, when I am already having BSNL
3G service for 15GB why should I request for your costly 3G service, am I mad.
This is absoulte cheating case. I may need to consult the consumer court on
this cheating case.

    Dear viru,

    I have been receiving the same treatment from airtel. I got charged an 7,900/- on my account for data charges. I have discontinued their services since. However, It now comes to my notice that they have started calling my frequently used contacts for recovery of the dues. When I had contacted the customer care representatives, I got the same frustrating replies as you did. However, the nodal officer hasn’t even bothered replying to my emails. This is pure harassment by the company!
