Hi,

Subject: Over billing by airtel, Account No: 14384108, Tele : 08042173319

I have an airtel broadband connection, about one and half year back I requested Airtel to disconnect the service as I was going abroad. But they forced me to go for a retentions plan (250 Plan). No details/Terms and Conditions of the plan was provided to me, even after repeatedly asking them.

I was paying Rs 275(including tax) every month even though I was not using the land line or the broad band.

Wrong information provided: When I was offered this 250 plan, I was told first 1 GB of data was free. But later I came to know that only first 25hrs is free.

Incomplete information provided: A few months back my father used the internet to check a few mails, but forgot to switch off the modem. Internet was used only for a day, but the modem was switched on for a month. So I got a bill over Rs 4000 (Just for switching on the Modem!!!).
Airtel, has not informed me that they would be billing me this heavily just for switching on the modem. This should have been highlighted clearly to me.

This is looting customers.
Airtel firstly forces customers to go for a retentions plans, and then asks us to pay large amount even though we have not used the service.

I have complained this to Airtel, the customer service representative informed that the person who sold me the retentions plan should have informed me about the terms and condition and that they will bill me even if modem is switched on. Even after talking to Manager in Airtel, a one by the name Mahesh, I did not get any proper response. I have to wait on the call for long time, and explain the same to every one I talk, and finally they come back and say bill is correct.

Request you to please look into this matter, as companies like airtel make Huge profit by wrong billing.
