Vodafone Complaint

I work with ICICI Bank Ltd. A sales executive from Vodafone visited us asking to get some corporate connections. I got two numbers of mine ported (9971103368 & 9711486446) to Postpaid Vodafone connection. The numbers got active on 7th July, 12. On 11th July, 12, I tried speaking with the customer care to know about the internet service that I could avail on my numbers but the function of speaking with the customer service officer did not work on 9971103368 for Delhi region, but it worked for Maharashtra region. The executive informed me that he could not help me with my query as he is talking to me from Maharashtra. I tried calling in Delhi region for almost 10 times, but it did not work. I marked a mail to [email protected],

“After wasting my time for more than 1 hour on phone trying to speak with someone human, i had to write this mail. It is pathetic customer service that vodafone is providing. A simple internet activation could take this long i never thought that and even after all this it didnt work. There is no option in the ivr to speak to a human. Seriously disgusting”.

I got no revert on that.

Then, I asked my friend with the other number – 9711486446 to call on the customer care and put me on conference if it could work that way. It did. I asked the executive about the plan and asked that how I can activate corporate internet service plan on my phone. The executive replied that I need to mail on an email id to know about any corporate plan as they can only tell me about normal plans and how to activate them. I did not get time to mail for the next 4 days. I mailed for the same from my email id – [email protected] on 12th July,12 asking for the plan for which I got a revert that I have to first register my email id and then only I would get any plan information. On 15th July I sent a message registering my email id [email protected] to know about the plan. I sent an email asking for the plan on the very same day. I got revert about the plan package (Rs 98) from the back end team which I did not like. So I thought of activating a normal plan of Rs. 199 (Searched on website) on my phone. It mentioned that I would get 2 gb data download free for a month if I would activate that. On 17th July I tried sending the message to activate that pack with the keywords mentioned on the website but it always showed invalid keyword. Then I used the keyword “HELP GPRS” to get some help regarding the same. I got a reply message – “Please send ACT VL to 111(Toll free) to activate Vodafone live( MMS & Wap Access), Send CAN VL to 111 deactivate Vodafone live, send ACT VMC199 to activate Vodafone mobile connect and send CAN VMC199 to 111 to deactivate Vodafone mobile connect.” I sent the keyword ACT VMC199 to 111. I got a revert message saying, “Your request for activation of Vodafone mobile service has been registered. The same will be activated by 17th July.” On 17th July I got a message saying, “Hello! Your request dated 17-July-12 has been processed and the necessary service has been activated for your Vodafone mobile number 9971103368”. I called up the customer service on 17th July asking that is the data pack activated on my phone for which the executive replied in a yes saying that Rs199 pack has been activated on your phone. Then I said that then also I am not able to use my internet facility. The executive transferred my call to the concerned department who were not able to resolve the problem at that very moment. The internet automatically started working after a day. I received a call from Vodafone confirming that was my internet service working fine to which I replied yes. I received certain messages from Vodafone saying that my credit limit has been increased. I had no information that why was it happening. On 28th July I received a call from Vodafone during my busy office hours saying that I have exceeded my credit limit and I have to pay some money. I asked the executive that for what they have charged me as I was quite sure that the bill amount could not reach more than 500 as I was just using the number for calling on a particular number which was supposed to be free and for the internet service. The executive was very rude in asking that will I pay the money or no to which I replied no and without listening to my full sentence the executive dropped the call. On the same day I paid Rs. 300 and called customer care to ask that what exactly is the problem and where are they charging me. The executive repeatedly said that they could not tell me till the time bill is generated as there are no discounts added. I had no other option but to wait for the bill to be generated. On 3rd August I received 1 small missed call from Vodafone number and just after the missed call received I got a message saying, “Hello, we have been trying to contact you for the feedback of your registered concern. Kindly spare sometime and attend the call.” I wonder how to revert for a missed call. Then I was shocked to know that my outgoing service has been barred due to exceeded credit limit. I received a call at 4:35 pm ( No. – 011-71638600) from Vodafone that my outgoing service has been barred and the executive asked that when would I pay the bill. I confirmed that Rs. 500, I will pay by 6pm that day and the rest I would pay after seeing my bill. I asked the lady that could you please confirm that is Rs. 199 data pack active on my phone to which she replied, “Yes, it is”. I paid Rs. 500 in next one hour and my services were activated again. Every time when my bill exceeded the credit limit my internet service was stopped about which I did not know. I used to call the customer care asking that I am not able to use my internet service and they always use to ask me to check my manual settings. They never use to utter that service has been stopped due to exceeded credit limit.

Today, on 5th July, when I was able to check my bill online I was shocked to see that Rs.1386.90 have been charged just for the internet usage on my phone. I called the Customer care again. The executive who picked my call at the first instance was asked by me in the first statement on mine, “Could you please check that is there any data pack activated on my phone”. He replied, “Yes, Rs.199 pack is activated on your phone.” Then I asked him to check that why I have been charged that much for the data usage last month. He kept my call on hold for sometime and said that it is not activated as I am using a corporate number. I asked him that I wanted to speak to his senior as I was quite sure at that point of time that he is not going to help me. He said he is transferring my call and disconnected. I again called the customer care to speak with another gentleman to whom I again had to reiterate my whole concern and again had to ask to give the call to his superior. He transferred the call to someone called “Sandeep Singh” who claimed to be the floor incharge. After discussing all my concern he simply refuses to transfer further call of mine to any of his superiors. I asked him for the name of the person to whom he reported. He simply said that he cannot share the name. I asked him to raise a complaint about whatsoever I was going through to which he replied that he could not raise a complaint as there was no complaint. I told him that I would have to iterate the complaint number to the nodal officer to whom I would speak with, that is why I need a complaint number. He replied that he will not raise a complaint and dropped the call thanking me.

I have been using this number from past 6 years and I would wish not to change it. But Vodafone as a company would surely lose their brand name and their value if they would keep on treating their customers like this.

I had no other option rather than writing a mail to Vodafone complaint mail id and marking a copy to TRAI and consumer forum to get the issue resolved.
Hope some action would be taken for the same and I would get a reply at least for this.
