Unable to send more than 5 messages per day

I agree with Puneet, in fact ‘m suffering from the same grievance. I am entitled to SmS @.01 paise, I pay for every msg besides the monthly charge then why should I suffer with such an absurd limitation of JUST 5 msg a day. The Company is answerable to us and Reliance has to provide us with a legitimate solution.

The problem is not only with reliane. DOT has stopped the Bulk Messaging and the limited the max number of msg that can be sent per day to 5. this has been taken as a precautional step

According to Union Home Secretary, Mr. R.K. Singh, ”from today onwards, No one will be able to send more than 5 SMS in one go and MMSes of more than 25 KB data through their mobile phones (CDMA/GSM) during the ban period.”

India’s Home Ministry has asked Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to implement the SMS/MMS Ban order through the Mobile Service providers (GSM/CDMA) in all circles across India. This restriction does not apply on the SMS, MMS in respect of transactional message related institutions such as Barking, Financial institutes & Railways.

The ban announced by Home Ministry just after Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh said that spread of rumors by miscreants had led to people belonging to the North East to flee from Hydrabad (Andhra Pradesh) Bangalore (Karnataka), Pune (Maharashtra) and some other parts of the country, amidst threats of retaliatory attacks over Assam violence.

if this is for a good cause then we should be in favor of it but public money should not go in vain. we should be get in something else for the same. If govt. can limit the bulk messages then by issuing some norm we people can also get some other service in return. This is not a big task if they can stop something then they can provide us with something. my whole day goes on texting with my friends but now its like some1 has steal something from u. But to help the people we can do this much atleast because the sufferers are the 1 from us. But i hope we can get something in return because we also are investing our money that too should not go in vain.

guys i found a solution for this problem..signin to youmint you can send 50 messages a day 🙂 or activate netpack and chat using whats app(android, blackberry,symbian,iphone)..the best thing i suggest is use ChompSms app(android,blackberry,iphone) in that you can send unlimited sms using the virtual US number:-) if the recevier also as the same app then you can chat allday:-) i hope it helped you:-)

In a very insane move by the Indian Government, a limit of 5 sms per day has been imposed on GSM and CDMA mobile users of India. From August 18, 2012, mobile users can send only 5 sms per day to the maximum after which the messages don’t get delivered with a prompt indication from the mobile operator.

The move was made by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) to curb the spread of rumors which was meant to spread fear and to vacate North Eastern Indian’s from certain states. Home Ministry said that the rumors led to the flee of North East Indian’s from states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra and hence the move was necessary. The rumor SMSs contained misleading information related to Assam Violence

The restriction does not apply on the transaction SMS related to Banking, Financial Institutions and Railway alerts.

Moreover, one cannot send more than 20 KB of data, not more than 5 MMS per day as well. According to some reports, the rule has not yet been implemented by Airtel, in some parts of the country.

When the 6th message was tried from Aircel, the following message was sent by the operator.

“Due to Govt. directives, More than 5 SMS per day are blocked. Please retry tomorrow. Anticipate your co-operation.”

Other operators will come up with a similar message ” Hi! You have sent 5 SMS today. As per Govt. guidelines, you can’t send more than 5 SMS today. Your SMS services will be resumed post Midnight.”

No inputs about what the existing users will do about their SMS Booster Packs which allows them to send 100 or 200 SMS per day depending on the pack. The money won’t be refunded and the validity of the pack can’t be extended either!

It’s a very disappointing news for Indian Youngsters! There seems to be no point in curbing the SMS limit to 5 per when already there has been a limit of 200 per day.

download ” free sms india” app of android which itself has 10 gateways. register in each and send upto 50 sms per day!!!

First, the restriction of 5sms per day till 31-Aug applies unanimously for all operators and being DoT norm, nothing can be done to contest it.

Now, option of remitting amount is not practical because operators will give concrete excuse of Govt. compulsion. They will even put forth terms and condition that we barely know after taking connection.

So what to do ? Time to activate Internet on mobile, 2G gprs costs Rs 5/day. Then use mobile messengers. Nimbuzz facilitates even voice call over 2G gprs. This can even cost less and prove more efficient for distant communication.

Lastly, I hope our ministers stop proving their idiocy and incapability, and think of some sensible ideas to attain the objective!
