This Complaint is regarding Titan Showroom (Shrihari Distributors Authorised Service centre) in Kalyani Nagar, Pune.

Problem-I have got a gift from my parents “Titan Watch- Model number- NB9841KM01 bought from PATNA “Daak Bungalow road showroom” on 8- FEB-2014. within a month of using the watch, the bronze plating lost its luster and started fading in patches. There was also water condensation inside the glass dial. I took it to Helios store in koregaon park plaza mall, Pune since I live in Pune. They told me to take it to kalyani nagar titan showroom which is their authorized service center, as they also recognized it as a genuine concern. The next surprise was the watch couldn’t take a slight shock and the glass broke.
I took it to kalyani nagar service center immediately on 04-MAY-2014 and explained them the 3 issues –

1.Condensation of water
2.Fading of bronze plating
3.The glass breaking.

Their response was demeaning in many ways:

1. The glass is not our responsibility as it is not covered in warranty.
2. The condensation was denied on my face and i had no means to prove it since the glass was broken.
3. The most shocking was they blatantly denied being able to see any fading of the bronze plating which is visible even today on the watch and is covered in their 1 year warranty.
4. The behavior of the staff was extremely unprofessional and impolite where they kept rolling their eyes every time I tried to explain my concerns and demand an answer. Ms. Maya Patil was attending to me, she kept insisting that i should wrap my complain fast and leave. Her senior even told her in local language to fill my form fast and finish the formality. Even before sending it to bangalore she told me that the fading will not be acknowledged by their bangalore service center but they are taking the complaint just for formality. They said they’ll revert back in 15 days and let me know what can be done about it.

Today, 25-may-2014, after 21 days of waiting, i called the service center. Responses were as given by Ms. Maya Patil, kalyani nagar service center, Pune:

1. Bangalore service center has denied to take up the bronze plating issue.
2. The glass can be replaced and the charges to be borne by me.
The above answers were not convincing and clear so I asked for a written confirmation from Titan of what she was saying. She refused saying that we are not allowed to make any such written statements. She said for any further clarification I should call titan customer care.
I called them, they took my complaint for the bronze plating fading and glass breaking. when asked about the current status and location of my watch they said if the watch has been submitted to titan a reference i.d. should be generated without exception, which only the showroom can provide.

I called the kalyani nagar, pune showroon twice and they have failed in providing me with any reference i.d./ explanation/ status of my watch.

Right now i am frustrated because of the following reasons:
1. I don’t have my watch and neither any information of its whereabouts.
2. The behavior of the titan showroom, kalyani nagar, pune has been demeaning, disappointing and insulting.
3. I have no faith in titan in terms of quality of their products and service process.
4. I don’t even know for sure if the watch has been sent to Bangalore as promised or some local service center since they have refused to provide me of any written account/reference i.d.
