Sbi tata credit card hacked fraudulent transactions

This referance to the ‘CaseID=006-268-956’ Transactions Dispute at SBI .

on 15th jan 2013 early morning (around 5.00 am) when I checked my mobile, I found a 3 sms from tata credit card for a transactions . The details are as follows

date of transaction : 15th jan 2013
amount of transaction : 19083.49
transaction details in sms and mail: macy’s east 536
time of sms: 04.07 am on 15th jan 2013.

Date of transaction : 15th jan 2013
amount of transaction : 24158.09
transaction details in sms and mail: macy’s east 536
time of sms: 04.13 am on 15th jan 2013.

Date of transaction : 15th jan 2013
amount of transaction : 24868.62
transaction details in sms and mail: macy’s east 536
time of sms: 04.17 am on 15th jan 2013.

After noticing the transaction, I immediately called tata credit card customer service 02060008000 at 5.15 am to block the card. They blocked the card after verification.As my card was not stolen or lost I asked them( name of the person was manoj)2 times that shall I make police complaint as I haven’t made those transactions, so he told me not to doany complaint as he has already blocked the card .

I received more 3 sms’s from tata card telling 3 additional transactions worth rs. 78.95,5482.50 and rs 20131.74 have been declined as the card was blocked.

When I asked them to stop the payment for the above fraudulent transaction which happened in very early morning, the customer service said, they can not do it.And as a process after merchant claims the amount, I should fill in the dispute form and submit to customer care for the above transaction. This process will require almost 90 days to settle.
I was surprized to know that even if alert customer is calling them and informing them of fraudulent transaction, the customer service is not taking prompt action to find out where and how the fraud happened. They were not even able to tell the merchant’s name and location and were nor in position to stop the transaction.

I have the card with me. I never handed it to anyone. This is clear case of credit card hacking. Can tata sbi card act swiftly to find culprit and help the customers.

    On 17.01.13 early morning, I received 3 Text
    1st Message on my Phone at 4:37 am stating Transaction of Rs 24290.61 made on tata credit card no XX XXXX at MACY’S EAST # 491 on 17.01.13
    2nd Message on my Phone at 4:41 am stating Dear Tatacard Holder , Txn of Rs 11430.87 on Card ending MACY’s EAST #503 has been declined due to card block. Pls call at 18001808282 / 60008000 for details
    3rd Message on my Phone at 5:27 am stating Dear Tatacard Holder , Txn of Rs 3571.60 on Card ending MACY’s EAST #503 has been declined due to card block. Pls call at 18001808282 / 60008000 for details

    I have also filled dispute form, and waiting for the Tata CARD / SBI CARD to solve this.

    Tata Credit Card will ultimately put the blame on the consumer like us instead of finding the actual culprit. Search for other old cases

    Sub : Complaint regarding fraud transaction happened in my account
    Sir,
    This is Tumati Ravikanth holding a savings account with SBI, Pedakurapadu Branch with account no. 30593775274. On 08th Jan 2013, 4 fraud transactions happened in my account. These transactions happened through online POS. I did not do any transactions at that time. I have logged 4 complaints regarding fraudulent transactions done through internet. My branch people are not at all responding for my complaints. I have to file case against this transaction. But the staff of that branch are not at all responding. Please help me by interfere in this case and do the needful. So kindly investigate and help me for refunding of the same amount.

  7. I also faced the same problems with SBI credit card. I got the message saying four transactions were done from my card total worth Rs.88000/- which was never done by me. Immediately within 10 mins i gave a call to SBI credit card customer care and requested them not to settle the claim as those are fraud cases, but i too got the same reply that, they cant stop the settlement. This was really horror to know because when i called them neither merchant claimed nor bank had settled. I repeatedly told them this is not done by me so please dont do the settlement. But they repeatedly answer the same thing that they cant do it. Once merchant claim they have to pay and then we have to fill dispute form bla bla bla. When asked for the merchant name or from where the transactions happened, they were not able to reply us.
    We have recorded all the calls with SBI. We have done complaint in Police station as well as Cyber cell.
    Hoping to see some positive response. Will never repeat my mistake of having SBI Credit card and will do the publicity as much as possible for not to go for SBI credit card. They are totally fraud.

  8. Hi, online transaction made through I credit card for 7997 today, which I not by me. post checking with customer care they are saying we cant stop the transaction. blocked my credit card at the moment.
    Someone please help me to cancel this transaction and get back and amount
