Poor facility of Indian Railways Coach No. B4 in 12625 Kerala Express departed from New Delhi on 17th June, 2012

Location/place: Gurgaon

Name of company/service: Indian Railways

Dear Sir,

On 17th June, 2012 we were travelling by 12625 Kerala Express, (PNR No. 223046866, 2800959604 & 2434006601) from New Delhi in coach No. B4. The condition of the coach was very poor as the AC was not working, and there was no water in all the washrooms from the very biggning, i.e. from New Delhi station which were brought to the notice of the coach attendant, TTE as well as the guard.

They reluctant to even hear our words by saying that what we will do?, We asked the complaint book, but replied that the complaint book is with the guard. At Agra Cant. station, we approached the guard and briefed the situation but he also suggested to inform the TTE who is carrying the complaint book and can register the complaint. Again we approached the TTE who at first tried to turn back us from our mission by lodging a complaint, and after an hour later we again contacted him and asked him to give us the complaint book other wise we will be forced to do it at any course. Then he agreed and we lodged the complaint. (A scanned copy of the same is attached herewith for your reference & record)

Sir, I could not understand one thing that we have booked the ticket 4 months advance by paying full amount as demanded by Indian Railways, but we are not getting adequate facilities offered by the Indian Railways / and / or the concerned authorities are not even listen to our complaints. On the day, we all passengers on the B4 coach travelled with out AC (same situation in a normal sleeper), then why we booked for AC 3 tier ticket by paying this much amount that even before 4 months?

Sir, I decided to approach and lodge an FIR / complaint with the consumer forum with this regard for the refund of the fare as the Indian Railways failed to provide adequate facility as they publicized for the information of its customers/ passengers.

I will appreciate, if you could look into the matter and an investigation in this issue.

With regards,

Yours truely,

Sir, im Nayantara Nair from Thiruvalla, kerala. I agree with you but i hav never faced any problem in B4 coach and in my every travel i always get B4 coach from New Delhi, and hence i dont feel any discomfort in water, but i agree with your a.c. problem because i also feel very discomfort inside compartment in the somewhere areas of mathura, agra, warangal, vijaywada etc. And i always travel in may so temperature gets high and leads to suffocation, but i hav noticed that B2,B3 coaches are very neat and new design coach and ac is well working but B4 B5 are bluish coach similar to sleeper coach in colour but ac temp get low(26 to28) deg celcius so it make much more hot,and also the window glass are tinted and somtimes vapours get spread in between glasses and not able to see anything outside. These are bad effects of ac coach of Kerala express.I wish the old coaches should be replaced by new coaches and should give good comfort to passengers.Thank you!
