Whenever I have to do a online transaction requiring an OTP, I will never get the OTP instantly as you get it from other banks like SBI, CITI etc. I normally don’t get it within 15 (sometimes it comes after 30 minutes)minutes. By the time one receive the OTP the session would expire making the OTP useless. However, If I follow the instruction from their websites “If there is a delay in receipt of OTP, you can send a request to receive it. SMS IBOTP to 5676766 or 9215676766. Request should be sent from the mobile number registered in our records. ” I get the OTP immediately but at the cost of INR 3 for one SMS. It seems like a scam to me by indirectly forcing the user to go the SMS route and spend INR 3 per SMS. This is cleary not the case with other banks which tells me that ICICI is doing it purposely and cheating on their customers
