When I connected to the prepaid call center my nightmare started.

I had asked the agent Mr.Abasaheb he claimed his name was, about international roaming and ISD calling. He told me that it would get activated the minute my phone was switched on in a foreign location and that I would be able to make calls. On asking him whether he could check and confirm the same he suddenly said if you want it pre activated please send SMS ACT IR to some number. Also he said there would be a monthly rental of Rs.99/-. I asked him if it was pre activated then why would you be charging a rental he had no idea and refused to speak to elaborate.
Then I told him fine I will activate it but I need it only for a month. My Mom a senior citizen is travelling alone to Canada next week. She will be there for 6 months. She needs the phone only on her journey to and fro. For the remaining period of time she will be with my sister in Canada so doesn’t need the phone. I was trying to ask your agent whether there is some plan which can get activated for only 1 month and then we deactivate the same and activate it again when she is on her return journey.

Please find below some of the statements your agent used while talking to me –
1. Why do you want international roaming only for 1 month if the concerned person is travelling for 6 months (who is he to question a customer on what he/ she wants)
2. Don’t you know that you are not allowed to switch on phone in the flight. Why do you need roaming on the flight (thank you very much for your knowledge, but the flight we are taking is a hopping flight and has a stop over at Frankfurt – so to give my Mom ease of access I needed it. Seems your agent is not aware and he is questioning my knowledge)
3. What do I care you can activate whatever plan you want for few hours who am I to say

When I asked for a supervisor or a team leader I was told by the agent that he could not connect my call to any supervisor as it is not allowed. He said that if I wanted to speak to anyone else I could disconnect n call again.

My question to you –
1. What Is your customer service? First question do you have one?
2. You have absolutely untrained and ill mannered agents on the phone who shouldn’t even be sitting there.
3. There is no senior there to answer any queries or help or raise our grievance to.
