My name is Mallika Chakraborty, I am from Kolkata, West Bengal. I am a freelancer content writer. While searching for work opportunity on the internet, I came across an advertisement in Quikr.com. It read :
“am looking for some good writers at the rate of 150 rupees for 500 words, i pay 30 rupees for 100 words , copy scape free content. only experience writer email me if you are a fresher stay away please

I sent him an email with some of my samples. After one of two days he replied and said that my samples are approved and I can work with him as Rs. 125 for 500 words. He said his name is Pratik Singh and he is from Punjab. Here is what he said me on the chat:
“Pratik singh
now coming back to your questions, am pratik singh , am originated from punjab , i used to be in a mnc near chandgr , now after my retrmnt i i have came here in my son’s home at abu dhabi , planing to stay here for few months now ”
Also, he have his address – Street 15, Al Ittihad Area, Zone 1, 63 UAE, Abu Dhabi, but he did not have his phone number.
I started working for him on 14th July 2014 as per the decided rate per 500 word. He said that he pays bi-weekly. As I started on 14th July, 14, the bi-weekly cycle end on 28th July’14.
He also said that he will complete all the formalities, like client feedback and all by 24 hours from 28th July’14 and clear the payments as early as possible.
This was not my first freelancing project and the other projects I have worked on operated similarly. So, I accepted to work for him. From 14th July 2014 to 28th July 2014 I worked for him and delivered 43350 words worth Rs. 10837.5 (as per the rate).
After sending the invoice to him, I asked when he will clear by payments. He said, once his clients give the feedback he will make the payments. I said, how many days will it take. He said, 24 hours. So, I decided to wait til them.
But, even after 72 hours when I did not hear from him anything regarding the same, I asked him again. That day he told that all articles are approved and he will make the payment next week. That day was Friday, 1 August 2014. I said, next week will be too late, but he did not reply to this.
On Monday, 4th August 2014, I again asked him regarding the payments. He said, “Yes don’t worry Alrdy sent your cheque to my son, he will b submiting it today probably.I remember your words that’s y send it long ago before I went outside”.
I decided to wait.
On Tuesday, 5th August 2014, I said him, “Sorry to bother you again and again… But it would be very nice of you if you tell me.. When will the amount get deposited to my a/c.. I am stuck in great trouble.. That’s y asking you .. Don’t get me wrong…”
His reply was -” it takes few days time than the normal as i live in dubai so
normally in same country the bank takes about 3-5 days at max but here it takes about 5-7
i submitted saturday monring so u should be getting by satudy mrorning at max”
I told him to make it via NEFT and he have a number of excuses, tax and all.
Again, I decided to wait. In the meanwhile, I have also stated working on the next bi-weekly cycle for him from 29th July’14 to 13th Aug’14.
As he as said that from Dubai to India it might take 5 to 7 days to get the check cleared I waited till the Saturday, 9th August’14. But, as expected I did not receive any money. Also, at that time my mother was ill. So, I told him that I won’t be able to work for few days. Also, I asked him to clear the payments till date, 9th Aug’14 Rs. 4875 for 19500 words.
On hearning thus, he started to abuse me of being a lair. But, my mother was not well, thats why, I did not get time to talk with him regarding the same.
On 10th Aug’14, when I mailed him inquiring about my payments, an automated mail from Google came that read – Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently.
So, altogether that person who calls him Pratik Singh owes me Rs. 15,712.5 for 62850 words (from 14th July 2014 to 8th Aug 2014). But, he did not pay a single penny.
One more thing I suspect about him, he or she also operates through another email id, “[email protected]”.
Hope, you can help me with this and find that culprit out who cheats upon people for making money.
