Forcibly charging for subcribtions and cheating the customers

Respected SIR/Madam,

My name is Amitabha Das, and i am resident of Kolkata. My mobile number is 8017063106, (Vodafone). I am very upset and frustrated the way Vodafone is cheating their customers. I am a postpaid users and for the last five months they are charging for some download contents that was never downloaded in my cellphone.

Some Details are as follows:

15/04/14, there was a download of Rs.99/- noted on 26/03/14
15/06/14 12:06:56 hello1_tvallsouth – 30
17/06/14-18:59:04 mobilart_valuepack- 30
19/07/14- Hello1 TV Weekly – 35/-
01/08/14-Hello1 TV Weekly – 35/
I myself de-activated and again it got activated
01/08/14-Hello1 TV Weekly – 35/
It also became my homepage after deleting all the history and cookies from IE, without my consent.

After writing several emails, to the nodal officer, they didn’t bother to resolve my issue, they replied me that charges are genuine.
However, when i called Vodafone call-center and asked that please tell me from which website did i download all this content and tell me the link or how does this services get activated as this are all Vodafone services , they said this are subscriptions and they are not sure how it happened and every time it happens i have to pay for this.

Last week i was again charged for the same and every week in-spite of regular call, they didn’t refund any amount and every week i am being charged Rs. 35 for nothing. Today on 1st Aug, i was again charged and i again deactivated, and automatically as soon i deactivated it again charged me, I called the customer care, and they are well aware of this and they just said they can only refund me for one charges incurred on 1st Aug 2014 .

This is really not justice, i am not downloading anything or neither i am interested to subscribe anything and Vodafone is forcibly charging for all this subscription.

Kindly do the needful as am i want refund for all this subscription incurred. I am giving total authority to check all my browsing history. This is big time cheating and fraudulent way of taking money from customers.

I want strict action against Vodafone for such awful service and such harassment .

Thanks and Regards,
Amitabha Das

Same here has happened with me with vodafone charging for spurious subscription with bizzare hello1_tv allsouth and deals_mydala99 totaling a cost of Rs129 for such non sensical reason. Has your issue been resolved? The help desk people do not know anything and they give such lame replies that its really frustrating.

Same here…I am a Vodafone customer from Mumbai and my billing statement shows a charge of INR 30 for a service called “hello1_tvallsouth – 30”. Customer service has no clue and keep on beating round the bush. When cornered and nothing to answer they just disconnect your call. I am currently awaiting a response from Vodafone to my email…further updates to follow…

  6. I am also charged for tvall south Rs.99 without my any usage of any such service …. I m from ahmdebad .
this is realy frustrating .. cheating customers without thier concern is fraud by vodafone.

This is the second time consecutively I have been charged for services I don’t even know. If these are activated while browsing it should ask for confirmation and not charge automatically, neither any confirmation of activation is recieved thereafter.
    hello1_tvallsouth_ Rs. 30
    dtc_ndtv_valuepack_9 Rs. 99
    wapvilla_ppd Rs. 49
TOTAL Rs. 178 (plus ofcourse additional tax on this amount as well)

I don’t need any of your services, and if these are not provided by you, the amount should be charged to me directly by asking for payment and not included in my bill without my knowledge. Please revert the charges and take some action on this matter so as it does not repeat in the future or please advice me either of the options – should I stop browsing on my mobile phone or switch to another service provider?

  11. Hi,
I am Pranay. I am using vodafhone connection from last 4 months. My no is 7767951177. Till last bill it was ok but suddenly in this bill “hello1_tvallsouth” charges of Rs30 extra got added. same thing happens with my other family meber..for this i have followed for one month but no response and still same charges got applied everytime.. I was call to customer care for last 2-3 hours continuously.. but still i am on IVR machine responding which charges 1 rs for 3 mins.. just irritating.
Finally If vodafone didn’t took any action regarding such extra charges, then i will take further action. I am not going to pay this bill those this charges got reduced.
    Regards,
    Pranay

  12. My name is Rishi Shankar Awasthi, I am from Bihar. I too am the victim of same fraud in the name of “mydala” & “tvallsouth” & wallpapers such, contents were never downloaded on my device ever.
I am gearing up to file a case on Vodafone very soon. Before that I will be going to Vodafone’s Zonal Office here in my city. Lets see what is their reply. All above said cases will also be presented as reference if you people give me permission. I am ready to fight for all of us.
All of us can’t click the same site from all over India every month.
One more point I would like to mention – All cases has been reported of Vodafone customers only. I have not found any single other operator doing such fraud.

    Hi
my name is hardeep, am from new delhi and facing the same problem since two months. Rs.30 are added up in my bill on the name of hello1_tvallsouth and on calling vodafone care. They just say it is your paid download.

  14. Hi,
    i am from bangalore.
here i am another victim of vodafone for being charged Rs. 99 in the recent bill for downloading hello1_tvallsouth_, which i don’t even have clue what is it all about.
With great effort i could get in contact with customer care executive over IVR (111 or 9886098860). when i questioned what are these charges for, cc exec is also clueless and he could only say, vodafone/cc executive need not have to know all such charges in specific, there will be lot of stuff available over internet and if user click download knowingly/unknowingly, the customer will be charged.

My second qn was, when you are charging for something, you should know what you are charging for. If you can let me know what service i availed for this amount i will try to enjoy the service atleast. He is not able to answer, neither he could find anyone else who can answer this, despite keeping me several min in waiting.

i really don’t think if i downloaded any stuff in my mobile first place.

when several people complaining on same issue, its pathetic to hear that they do not have more details.

    BR,
    Ram

    Hi All,
I have experienced same as a Vodafone postpaid customer. I strongly believe that it is a cheat and we must raise our voice against it.
This month I was charged for hello1_tvallsouth -99 and d2c mobitrans_99, total 198 plus tax. I wrote a strong mail to customer care and they have given me a waiver of these amounts this time but I know any day I can get surprise in my phone bill. Last month they even changed my internet bill plan without inform me and charged 2332 Rs for using 1.3 GB data. Can you believe this. I took this to nodal officer but their reply was – this is as per company policy and plan change info was given thru SMS . I searched my entire inbox but there was no SMS like this.
I will suggest do not use Internet in postpaid. Better if you use a different sim only for internet and recharge for internet pack only. This strategy will protect you from cheating.

  17. Vodafone is cheating customers. Vodafone data plan should not be used.

  18. I have also got the bill with such fake charges worth Rs. 99 under the name of ‘hello1 tvallsouth’ which I have never opted for. Moreover, they are even unable to tell any details about these charges which is very annoying.
I am using the vodafone services for more than 8 years and earlier I was completely satisfied with the services of the company but now the company has started making fraudulent charges like this. Also last month I was wrongly charged with data charges. This company is no more reliable now.

    Rs. 99 for hell1_tvsouth,
    Rs.49 for d2c_mgossip_pack49(twice)
    and also some d2c_ce_funbazaar_p
…….after having all unlimited 2G plan.

    Vodafone is cheating customers.
Added extra charges of tvallsouth into my postpaid bill. This has happened many times not once. Earlier the charges were rs. 30/-. Now it is rs. 99/- I never used that tvall or whatever it is.
I called customer service once and complained about it but they said that i might have touched some flashing add while using internet and hence incurred the charges.
But Something can happen by mistake once or twice not every time.
I don’t even know what this tvallsouh is.
This is just crap. I think vodafone is fooling the customers.
I’m not going to pay a penny to anyone for something which i have nit availed.
This time i am just posting a comment. I will be fioing a complaint soon.

I THINK EVERYONE MUST FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THE SERVICE PROVIDERS (VODAFONE).
THEN ONLY THEY WILL SEIZE LOOTING CUSTOMERS.

  23. Vodafone forcefully charging for unwanted packs from its customers..!!!

I have found many discrepancies in my billing for which I need clarifications until then I would not make any payment for the bill generated.

In October’14, I have changed my plan from 499 to 375 and in the bill generated for October month , I was charged in pro-rata basis for both the plans. But the discounts were not provided in pro-rata basis for Local and STD calls in that bill. Also, there were charges for MMS sent and for roaming as on 27/09/14. I haven’t sent any MMS nor I was roaming Out of Mumbai. These charges were due to network issues, I have raised a complaint also. Even though my number is within Mumbai Circle I’m getting roaming sign on my mobile and that’s why I was being charged for.

In November month bill, I was again charged for some weird packs which I haven’t activated and also for some special messages also. When I searched online, I have found that many Consumer forum
complaints against Vodafone by its customers who are being charged by Vodafone for the these packs forcefully.hello1_tvallsouth pack – Rs 30/-vuclipindia pack – Rs 75/-Consumer forum complaints Link:https://consumerforums.in/forcibly-charging-subcribtions-cheating-customers.

In December month, I have called up on the Vodafone complaints number “198” and logged a complaint against these billing related issues and they have informed me that I would be getting a call back from their supervisor regarding the complaint raised. But unfortunately, I haven’t
received any call back till date. I have called them again on my bill payment day and informed them that I wouldn’t pay the bill if my
Complaint was not resolved. Even though, there was no reply from my complaint. So, I have decided not to pay the bill. But they have stopped
my services on the 3rd day after my due date so I have paid partial amount to continue the services. Till now the issue was not resolved and now in January month bill, they have charged me for late fee.I’m really frustrated with the kind of service that’s provided by Vodafone and its representatives & supervisors not following up with the complaints raised by its customers.

Forcefully adding additional packs without intimation and without customers approval and charging extra money for those packs from the customers is absolutely irritating.

This is ridiculous and doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m not willing to pay this bill until the issue is resolved on high priority.

I would like to share with all the customers who are using this, please raise voice against this cheating, and don’t pay for this.

    Thanks

Vodafone had to pay him lumsum amount. I read about this incident somewhere. He took the matter to the ministry of telecommunication to take legal action against vodafone.
