Respected Authority,
With due respect, I Shivam Agarwal hold an account in Kotak Mahindra Bank.
I had lost my Debit card on 29/07/12 and booked a request to block my card and issue me a new card on 30/07/12.
But to my surprise I found that the bank has used my company’s address as the 1st preferred address and my home address does not exist as any alternative.
Due to which I missed the delivery of the consignment as of course I was working when they tried delivering my consignment and why would my company take authority of the consignment. Over it the delivery company has a protocol of asking for costumer’s verification when delivering it with the presence of customer, which of course is not possible as my company would not take that initiative as well during work I don’t have my cell phone, so my company can’t contact me either.

I asked the bank to deliver it to my home address, for which they told they can’t as that is not the preferred address. I don’t understand why kotak Mahindra Bank thought that I live in my company and not at my home, which is quite evident with what have they done with the address issue.

I was not educated with this preferred address issue while opening an account with them. It’s certainly a grave issue because my company does not hold any part in my bank account nor I have given any authority to look after my bank account. Even if it is a salary account, does not mean my company has anything to do anything with it rather just to transfer my salary in the same.

I spoke to the customer care department of the bank and candidly asked them where my consignment has gone, as then I would personally go and collect it from my home branch. Representative from that branch told me that they cannot confirm it and offered me a fast track that it is delivered to the nearest branch. I waited for almost 7 days and even after commitment didn’t not receive any call from them. So now my debit card is still stuck in there so called “fast track process”. I have the recordings as well for the same.

I have gone through a lot of embarrassment and mental agony as due to my cards unavailability I had to face many issues. Even after this I haven’t found any solution from the bank and this bank is hardly concerned to this issue. I had called in again to look after this issue but even after commitment I haven’t heard from the bank.

I would request you to bring my case to justice and ask the bank to compensate me for all the trouble it has caused me.
