Channels Removed from Base Package

Location/place: Delhi

Name of company/service: Airtel D2H

My customer ID is 3003503073. I had subscribed for long duration economy sports package which included the ESPN, Star Cricket, Star Sports. Suddenly these channels have disappeared. talking to customer case @ 12150 they are saying that these channels have been removed from this base package ane certain other channels have been added. The time has coincided with start of India -England series telecast. How can the channels be removed from base package subscribed for 6 months or 1 year ? While choosing the package it was the major factor for me to decide the package. They just want that people should subscribe to these channels again as top up and fill their pockets with this opportunistic and unethical practice. I will surrender my connection if Airtel does not rectify this. Will never user any Airtel service in life. Customer service refused to give any complaint number but gave a tracking number as 348017793

  4. Airtel DTH cheating customers!!! Just before the start of the match they blocked ESPN-Star Sports and Star cricket from Sports Economy Pack #dissapointed

    Please take this issue seriously. Airtel should not treat their customers like this. If they want more money, they can come up with some attractive offer or they can put a stall near temple and beg for money, but dont cheat the loyal consumers like us.

  6. Tired of their similar attitude i requested disconnection & asked for refunds.. Services got terminated immediately but more than 3 weeks passed noone bothers to respond or do anythng on refund. These guys are a big bunch of unprofessionals with no focus on customer concerns

    I faced the same issue. I have 2 points to make.

    1. Why did Airtel change the package on the eve of The India England Test series. It is clear that they want to fleece more money from the customer.

    2. Why were none of the customers informed. The customers are paying money and have full right to know of any changes. Unless you are cheating, why would you hide any information.

    I am going to file an official complaint in the consumer court. Will post details here soon.

    im too experiencing same. AirTel DTH removed ESPN, Star Cricket & Star Sports from their South Value Plus Pack too. It happened despite assurance from Customer Care Executives while extending subscription that all channels will stay (they made this promise 2months back). Feel betrayal

    when contacted AirTel Customer Care, they say theses channels r xchangd with irrelevant Sony6, TenSports. Simply UNACCEPTABLE

    AirtelDigitalTv @ Removing 3 major sports channels from Eco Sports pack in the middle of the month without any intimation/information is a bad practice in DTH Service, you must understand that there are lots of other providers are begging with offers, it may gonna cost me little but I m gonna throw your both boxes out of my house very soon.
    As u removed the channels on the very day when India-England test started, as a token of frustration “Fck You”.

    After this incident, I thought I may change my Eco sport package to value sport and could add sports top up but when i tried to do that they just showing option for packages higher than Eco sports . What kind of service is this, they can remove channels from base pack and won’t giving us the right to change package as per our wish. it clearly indicates that they are trying to steal our money below our nose.

    Hi,same thing happened to me. Suddenly Airtel has removed ESPN,Star Sports and Star Cricket from my South Super sports package befor the start of Ind Eng series. Irritating part was no prior information given to customers. I tried for almost 2 hrs to reach cust care and they were happy to reply that it is not only for me but for all customers.This is real cheating. I wish to take this up with consumer forum. can anyone suggest the ways and means to file proper complaint to consumer forum.

    Channel (Like Espn, Star Cricket, Star Sports) from my Base Package are removed without even notifying me through any means (SMS. Email or Message on TV screen). These channels where the main criteria when i was choosing this package 2 years back.

    I have completely shocked and unsatisfied by the service and behavior of ADTH.

    • Increase the price of the package from 250 odd to 275 last month with name given as economy pack
    • Remove the sports channel even without notifying it just after one month
    • Removed good channel and added crap channels, sony six and trace sports instead
    • Now saying please take a chota pack of sports channel in your package.
    • It is hard to digest that you have removed the sports channel from the base package who’s name you gave sports pack i am surprised.
    • As per norms you should inform us at least 15 days before adding or subtracting any channels
    I am completely unsatisfied by the pathetic service you are providing to the customer.
    I am backing off from ADTH due to such pathetic service plus the unusual behavior of adding and subtracting the channels without informing and that too when those channels required most (on the start of the series). This definitely hurts to the customer.

    I am just not the one who is going to back off from ADTH but 6 of my friends have also decided to switch to other service provider by next month.

    By doing this you are just loosing the valuable customers, I am the GOLD customer with post paid mobile connection from Airtel only. I am using ADTH from last 2 years and Mobile for last 6 years. But the way you are dealing with customer is not good at all . You just want to maximize the revenue at any cost.

    I called customer care several times. They disconnect my call most of the times and I unable to contact him. if connected than they do not have a proper reason for that only they says “Sir it is done from back end team”

    I believe it is done to earn more money as the india cricket series is live on start cricket. This is a very cheap stuff from the brand like Airtel which says customer satisfaction is everything.

    I am writing this feedback plus complain with complete non satisfaction from the service, action, behavior and unpredictable nature of ADTH, You guys just want to increase your profit and do not want to provide a good service is the bottom line of all these action.

    This is pure cheating with the customer….

    I’m also victim of this unfair practice. During cricket world cup i had subscribed South Economy Sports package that includes sports channel such as Star Sports,Star Cricket, ESPN etc. But Airtel no longer care about their customers. First they say you are our valued customer, we care about you etc and next day they remove channels( Star Sports,Star Cricket, ESPN) from your base package without consulting with customer. Thus they want to be most loved brand and enrich the lives of millions by 2015. What a Vision!!!!
