2G Internet Data Balance should be carried forward if account is recharged within the validity period

I am Airtel Prepaid Consumer. Last month in September 2013, I recharged my account with Rs. 125/- internet pack and received 1 GB of Internet with a validity of 30 days. This pack was going to finish on 4th October.

On 4th October 2013, there was around 300 MB (approx.) data left out of 1 GB

I have recharged my account on 4th october before expiry of 1 GB pack with another Rs. 149/- to get the 1.2 GB of data. But that 300 MB of data has not been carried forward to my account.

At present, total data into my account must be around 1500 MB while it is showing only 1208 MB.

Request you to look into the matter. I have written this to you for quick resolution in my favour before I approach TRAI or consumer forum for this TRAI.

Kindly refer this URL of TRAI where It is explicitly mentioned that any unused balance in the prepaid account shall be carried forward and credited if the subscriber recharges within the period specified for the purpose.

Hope you will resolve shortly.

  2. I have got following responses from Airtel so far –
    Namaste Mr. Rahul,
This is with reference to your e-mail dated 05th October 2013, regarding 2G data balance not carried forward against your airtel mobile number 8451854020.
As per your telephonic discussion with the undersigned dated 09th October 2013, please be informed that we have checked our records and established that the data balance is never carried forward to the second net recharge made as per the process.
Another response from Apellate Authority –
This is in reference to your email dated 08 October 2013, regarding services of your airtel mobile number….
We would like to inform you that as per TRAI guidelines, any unused balance is carried forwards in case of main account balance only.
Further, we would like to inform you that dedicated account balance is not carried forward post expiration of the concerned plan.
    ———————————–
A Customer has got nothing to do with main account and dedicated account. And If this is so, Who has asked them to keep our amount in dedicated account ? A customer is only expecting return against the amount he or she is investing on number.
This is not at all the correct justification given by airtel and this requires further review. I have posted this entire matter in front of senior officers of TRAI and now I am waiting for their reply.
